Dr. Bader is not currently performing hair transplants.
Are you considering a hair transplant? Are you suffering from hair loss? You
are not alone. Hair loss affects millions of men and women. This site discusses the different methods used today including: follicular
grafting, mini and micro grafts, laser transplants, and plugs. Additionally, learn the benefits of medicinal therapy. With offices
in Coral Springs and Deerfield Beach, we are a short distance away from Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale Airport, Palm Beach Airport, and
Miami. Dr. Bader has been performing hair transplants since the 1990's and has authored a chapter on Hair Transplantation in emedicine's
online textbook (click to see chapter).

Why do most people lose their
hair?
There are several causes for hair loss. Most commonly, people lose their hair because they are genetically programmed to do so.
In men, the hormone dihidrotestosterone makes follicles smaller until only peach fuzz grows. Typically, women thin over the top of
the head, but do not go completely bald. Men may go bald, may only thin over the temples and top of the head, or get a bald spot.
All of these are treatable by hair transplantation.
How does hair transplants work?
Luckily, "protected follicles" , which are unaffected
by dihidrotestosterone, are always present on the back and sided of the scalp. These follicles are taken out (harvested) and moved
(transplanted) to the areas that one desires more hair. These follicles are always "protected follicles" and therefore are never lost.
Am
I a good candidate?
Hair transplantation typically is best in those over 35 years of age, with some exceptions. One must have reasonable
expectations. For example, if one was completely bald with only thin fine hair, it would not be reasonable to expect a full head of
hair after transplantation. One must be in good health and must not be on blood thinners (i.e. aspirin, coumadin, Plavix, etc.).
How
long is the transplant procedure?
Typically the procedure takes 2 to 8 hours, depending upon how many grafts are performed. The average
1000 graft session takes about 4 hours.
